Municipal Bonds presents Afton Love’s Raise works in the gallery’s Atrium Showcase, January 10 through February 28, 2026. Tidal at first glance and geological in formation, the paintings register as slow fields, suggesting water and stratified ground. In this series, the New Mexico-based artist works on silk organza with micaceous clay, graphite, and ink, building the surface through sequential lines. The marks rise, carrying density without weight, as each responds to the one before it. Love approaches painting as a cumulative act, material and perception advancing together.
